Two extremes and a mediocre

Two extremes and a mediocre

Even a person not being bibliophile had certainly came across the statement citing the ambiguity of some situations which holds both the possibility one of being perceived as too good and other of being too bad. One need not to be omnilegent to be aware of such lines which shows both the part of the situation being extremely contradictory but yet yields lots of difficulty in being decisive towards them. Generally such situations forms a crux in the demonstration of life issues by any philosopher or religious guide who claims life sometimes shows two side of a situation exactly opposite to each other but yet inflict a great dilemma on whether which option to follow.

Coming on myself I am not that fond of reading but as stated above had definitely came across such statement but to found my self entangled within such situation was something implausible considering my cognizance towards any situation. But it clocked in my life passing tangential to the hemisphere of most important relations of my life, "My Friends". The sensations popping in through its contact blow in the sentience towards such an equivocal situation and forced me to write about it.

The story revolved around three characters Lohit a civil service aspirant, Bitin a government job aspirant and Sankaj an another civil services aspirant. All the three being engineer by profession had a sound level of maturity towards their social responsibilities. We were having a cup of tea near a tea stall in a busy market area when Lohit noticed some irresponsible act by the shopkeeper. He immediately raised his voice and asked him whether why he is not having any dustbin to collect the scraps.  The shopkeeper busy with his work found lohit's tone quite arrogant and replied in similar tone "you better stand here till 9pm and then point if any single piece of scrap is left over". The argument blow-off into a rigorous exchange of words and the shopkeeper considering Lohit as a lay man mockering on him started dialing a number.

A sudden thought striked in my mind that it must be the number of the fellow who collects protection money from all the shops. In my residence near Sattawadi we had discussed about them a lot and also heard stories protraying them as "Goon Of Streets". The situation was tensed and the street guy's present would have intensed it a lot. Lohit on witnessing the shopkeeper dialing a number lost his temper and shouted "lav phone kunala lavacha ahe bheet nay me kunala" (dial whomsoever you wish to i am not afraid of any one ). The street guy arrived and an argument staarted which went on escalating, considering the critical situation Sankaj started to interfere.

Sankaj showed excellent level of his communication skiils and trapped the street guy in his sweet words and began to narrate the whole story but in favour of Lohit. Pampered by his wordplay the street guy stated that already two dustbin had been stolen from this stall "att kay karaycha tuch bol"( what more can we do). Taking advantage of this statement Sankaj againe drove a cover shot between the gaps straight to four. He pleased him with his obsequians words "babo tu astana kasa kay kunachi himmat jhali chorayla (who dared to stole those dustbin , from the place guarded by you). On having inspected both sides of the road Bitin decided to plung in the conversation and the topic got diverted giving us the pleasure of happy ending. The street guy also took Lohit in confidence and assured him that a new dustbin will be placed as early as possible.

Finally Lohit and Sankaj left for their classes and me and Bitin ordered another cup of tea from the same stall. Bitin in a low voice told to me that "this was not the right way nor the right time  I felt Lohit was abusing the shopkeeper for no reason. I am not saying that he was wrong but the shopkeeper was also on the fairer side. What important was that he clears the whole area near by his stall while leaving and also this is not the suitable time for us to do all such thing, for a moment we had invited probably a fight having the potential to ruin our career if something wrong had happened and thus endangering those who could have been benefited by us in future".

His words baffled me, till now I was a mere spectator to all these happenings and now puzzled among both the side whether who was right, both are my friend and both are also correct in their perspectives. This incident although was not that big but small enough which can profoundly portray to me the so called Dilemma of Choice.
